- Denver lost Teddy Bridgewater last week and he is currently questionable for Week 5.
- The Steelers are on a three-game losing streak after beating Buffalo in Week 1.
- Denver is currently in a three-way tie in the AFC West with a 3-1 record.
Last weekend, the Broncos were one of seven undefeated teams, but then they lost to the Baltimore Ravens and fell to 3-1. The Steelers were 1-2 and went on the road to face Green Bay where they unsurprisingly lost and fell to 1-3, last in the AFC North. These teams are solid defensive teams but are weaker on offense, so anticipate a low-scoring game.

Broncos Preview: Baffling Broncos
This season, the Broncos looked like an excellent team winning their first three games a combined 76-26. However, they were incredibly underwhelming against the Broncos, losing 23-7. The Broncos lost Teddy Bridgewater early on in the game, leaving Drew Lock to take most of the snaps.
I think that of the results from this season, the Ravens game is likely the more real of the two. When the Broncos won their games by a combined 76-26, it was against teams who were then a combined 0-9, now 2-10. The Broncos are not as bad offensively as they showed against the Ravens, but they are not much better.
Thanks to the Broncos’ hot start, they are 3-1, but when the Chiefs boast the worst record at 2-2 in your division, every win counts.
Steelers Preview: Strugglin’ Steelers
Last season, the Steelers won their first 11 games and looked like a team that could challenge the Chiefs for the AFC. Since going 11-0, the Steelers are 2-8 and have simply not looked like a good team.
They have significant offensive-line struggles, limiting their rushing game to 32nd yards and 16th in passing yards. Najee Harris has been hit at or behind the line of scrimmage on 80% of his rushing attempts.
The one thing to carry over from last season was their defense, and even that has declined this season. The Steelers are a top-10 rushing defense but are slightly worse in the passing game, ranking 15th in passing completion and 19th in pass yards.
The Steelers desperately need this win, as they are 1-3 in a division boasting the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals, who are all 3-1.
Odds & Free Betting Analysis for This NFL Game
To me, these teams legitimately feel like they are a sort of mirror image of each other. They both have good defenses that can shut down a solid offense, but neither team has a good offense.
This fact is best shown that neither one of these teams has had a game hit over the entire season. I do see this trend continuing through this week’s matchup, especially if Teddy is injured.
The Broncos rank well against the pass, 6th in yards against and 7th in completions against. That will be tough for the Steelers because they rank 2n in passing attempts and 32nd in rushing attempts. So the Steelers will pass the ball and not run it, and either way, the Broncos can defend it quite well.
The Steelers also defend against the run; they are 11th in rushing yards and 1st in rushing touchdowns against. That will be problematic for the Broncos as they rank 10th and 11th in rushing attempts and yards, respectively. It will be even more of a problem if the Broncos start Drew Lock because of Teddy Bridgewater’s concussion.
I anticipate this game being incredibly low-scoring and a real defensive struggle.
Now, a trend I do see changing is their respective records against the spread. The Broncos are currently 3-1, with their only loss coming last week against the Broncos. The Steelers, on the other hand, are 1-3, with their only win coming in Week 1 when they were underdogs against the Bills.
Assuming Bridgwater is out, I would give the game to the Steelers as Lock is simply not a good NFL quarterback. I would also give it to the Steelers even if Teddy is starting. I simply do not believe the Broncos are a legitimate contender as they will be limited offensively.
