As we start to settle into the midway part of the season we are starting to see some candidates for the MVP to separate. There have been a ton of really good offensive performances so far this season but there have been five guys that have really started to separate from the pack. Below, I will discuss the five guys I think have the best shot to win the MVP award.
Josh Allen is the Current MVP Frontrunner
In the offseason Josh Allen signed a massive contract extension and now he is living up to the hype that the Bills saw in him. The Bills are 5-2 on the season thus far and they look like they are in full control of the AFC East.
Allen has done his part as he has thrown for 1,972 yards and 17 touchdowns. He has only thrown three interceptions this year. This has the potential to be his best season in his young career.
Don’t Count Tom Brady Out
All that Brady has done throughout his career is win football games. This year is no different as he has led the Buccaneers to a 6-2 record and has helped them to first place in their division once again.
Brady has been fantastic as usual throwing for 2,650 yards and 25 touchdowns against just five interceptions this season. He is also completing percent of his passes. Look for Brady to continue his roll throughout this entire season.
Kyler Murray Can Sneak in and Win
Murray has been great behind center for the upstart Cardinals this year. Murray got off to a fantastic start last year but was slowed down by some unfortunate bounces. This season he has performed really well and is only seemingly getting better as the year rolls on.
He has thrown 17 touchdowns on the season and has only thrown seven interceptions. Seven of his touchdowns have come in the last three weeks, and that is counting a night where he didn’t throw any. His legs separate him from the others on this list.
Dak Prescott Could Win Multiple Awards this Year
Prescott is coming off of a crazy injury but has looked himself in the early going of the season. He has led the Cowboys off to a great start and have all but locked up the NFC East title as they hold a 3.5 game lead over the Eagles.
Prescott has thrown 16 touchdowns this year and only three interceptions. He has also thrown for 1,813 yards this season so far.
Matt Stafford Enjoys Change of Scenery
Stafford is finally a part of a very good football team and his ability to throw the ball is finally helping his team win. The Rams lead the NFC West and look to take out the Cardinals en route to a division title.
Stafford has thrown 22 touchdowns against four interceptions this year and could be a sneaky candidate if the Rams keep winning. With 2,477 passing yards this year he is on pace to throw for 5,000 yards for the second time in his career.
