- Rodgers stays hot dating back to last year
- Jameis Winston may struggle to get going with his first week as a starter
- The Packers are able to succeed in this high-scoring matchup
Week 1 of the NFL features many shootout games, but this may be the most high-scoring of the week. With Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams still in Green Bay as one of the best offensive trios in the league, Jameis Winston and Alvin Kamara may have a tough time keeping up.

Packers Preview: Do the Packers Have the Defense To Contend for the SB?
The Green Bay Packers are coming off of a tough, tough loss to the Super Bowl champion Buccaneers last season, and will be looking for a different result this year. After an awkward offseason with Rodgers calling out Green Bay’s front office and threatening to leave, the Packers are in win-now mode.
With dominant skill players Davante Adams and Aaron Jones bound to play well once again, the offense is looking scary. Robert Tonyan was a pleasant surprise last year and should continue to see plenty of red-zone targets. The Packers also re-acquired Randall Cobb this year per Rodgers’s request.
As long as the Packer’s defense can lock up Alvin Kamara, they should be in good shape. They swapped a few guys in and out of the defensive, but it will be a very similar, solid squad out there. They should be looking for Winston to throw some wild passes if they watched Tampa Bay before the Tom Brady era.
Saints Preview: Alvin Kamara Must Have His Best Season for the Saints to Be Good!
The New Orleans Saints lost long-time QB Drew Brees to retirement last season, and are looking for Jameis Winston to fill the role. He has looked solid in pre-season, but then again, it’s pre-season. Alvin Kamara should relieve lots of pressure for Winston with his pure play-making ability.
Michael Thomas will be out until at least October, so Marquez Callaway and Tre-Quan Smith will be ready for targets. New Orleans also has Jared Cook as a solid passing option for Jameis Winston and is always a red-zone threat. Expect Kamara to take a majority of the touches in this offense.
The New Orleans defense has been sub-par for the past few years. They could have a nightmare game trying to contain Adams and Jones. They will need to come ready to play in this home game at Jacksonville. The Saints should score points, but their defense is once again a question mark.
Odds & Free Betting Analysis for This NFL Game
The Packers seem to be the consensus to the public and I completely agree. The Packers just feel like the better team at almost every position and should win this game by more than 4. This game has the potential to be a shootout, so I will take the over as well.
Packers vs Saints Pick
- KnupSports.com Free Betting Pick: I’ll take Green Bay in this one at -3.5. They have the same core guys on offense and have a steady defense overall. I think the Saints struggle the first few weeks with Winston as QB and the Packers take advantage of it.
