- Tom Brady and the Buccaneers continue their hot streak after winning the Super Bowl
- The Rams and new QB Matt Stafford are 2-0 and look to unseat the NFC favorites
- Both defenses will need to be stout as both teams are averaging over 30 points per game
This may be the matchup of the week in the NFL. Many analysts consider the Rams and Buccaneers to be numbers 1 and 2 in the power rankings. The offenses are on fire, so the defenses need to remain in control for either team to have a chance. Matt Stafford and the Rams look to make it known they are for real in what could very well be a preview of the NFC Championship game.

Buccaneers Preview: Can the Bucs continue their post-Super Bowl hot streak?
Tom Brady and the Buccaneers have picked up right where they left off after winning Super Bowl LV in their home stadium. After a slow start last year, it appears that the team is beginning to run on all cylinders. The offense is averaging over 30 points per game while the defense is remaining stout enough to bring home the victories.
Rob Gronkowski appears to be back to his old form. After just 2 games, he has already pulled down 4 touchdowns. After having no more than 8 touchdowns in either of his last 5 seasons, Gronk is hoping to prove that he is still dominant. The Rams are coming into the game with one of the better pass defenses, so this is a matchup to watch.
The Tampa Bay defense will need to step up their game if they want to come away with the victory. Currently 23rd in the league based on yards allowed, they will be facing a top-10 passing attack and an offense that also averages over 30 points per game. The Rams rushing offense has not been very good to start the season, so look for the Bucs to focus heavily on stopping the pass.
Rams Preview: Matt Stafford and the new-look Rams need to outscore the Bucs high-powered offense.

With the recent addition of Matt Stafford, the Rams look to finally have a competitive team on both sides of the ball. Similar to the Bucs, the Rams are averaging over 30 points per game on offense. The strategy of both teams will likely mirror one another. If the Rams can limit the Bucs scoring drives, they will be in a great position.
A top-5 offense in scoring, the Rams need to continue pushing the ball down the field and focus on the running game. The Rams rushing attack is currently bottom-10 in the league, averaging only 80 yards per game. Look for the Rams to feed Darrell Henderson early to set up the passing game. Success in running leads to success in passing and Matt Stafford is sure to take advantage of any opportunity that arises.
The Rams defense is only allowing 19 points per game so far. Sure, 2 games isn’t exactly a great barometer for whether or not a team is good. But if the Rams can hold the Bucs below 20, they stand a great chance at winning. Although most will focus on both teams’ offenses during this game, I think it will be the defenses that determine the winner.
Odds & Free Betting Analysis for This NFL Game
This matchup is coming in fairly even so far on the sportsbooks. Although the Bucs are favored in the spread, they are only coming in at -1 to the Rams +1. For me, the Bucs and Tom Brady are running on all cylinders and it doesn’t seem like they will be stopping any time soon. I’m going Bucs and look for them to easily cover the spread.
Rams vs Buccaneers Pick
- KnupSports.com Free Betting Pick: I am going Bucs. Tom Brady has already thrown 9 TDs in just 2 games and they seem to be getting better each week. At -1 with the offense they have, I wonder if the Rams are going to be prepared enough.
