We have a slate of six total games being played in the NHL tonight. I am going to try and provide a strategy and some potential players to include to help you win your DFS contests.

The Games:

Chicago Blackhawks at Toronto Maple Leafs
Tampa Bay Lightning at Arizona Coyotes
Detroit Red Wings at Edmonton Oilers
Colorado Avalanche at Minnesota Wild
New York Rangers at Vancouver Canucks
Buffalo Sabres at Anaheim Ducks

Strategy:

Mixture of Stacking and looking at hot teams, Points-per-game, Time-on-ice, and teams that are simply playing weaker opponents with higher odds of more points.

Teams of Interest:

Rangers- Playing great hockey recently
Oilers – Starpower through the roof on offense
Lightning – Weak Opponent

My Value Stack Pick of the Night for DFS:

Rangers
The Rangers are hot right now, winning five straight games while averaging 5 goals per game in that stretch. Adding Vladimir Tarasenko to the first line is huge for the team, and also for fantasy purposes. We are going to suggest the cheap price at $4,700 and potentially stacking him with Mika Zibanejad ($7,000). Consider Chris Kreider as well here if you want to go full stack.

Overall Lineup Strategy:

Since the rangers are averaging a high goals-per-game in this recent stretch it’s worth adding names like Filip Chytil at $5,000. He has five points in this stretch with four of them being goals and one assist.

The Lightning are my next play here because they are playing the Arizona Coyotes, who simply aren’t the greatest franchise right now, and holding out one of their best players in Jakob Chychrun. Consider Brayden Point at $6,900 and although it’s not a stack, I’d insert value guys like Anthony Cirelli so you are able to add firepower elsewhere. The last time the Lightning played the Coyotes on December 31st they won 5-3, I anticipate at least five goals in this game.

Here is a lineup to consider, keep in mind there are many options. In this lineup we like the combo of points per game, time on ice, and taking advantage of weaker opponents.

C.Brayden Point ($6,900)
C. Mika Zibanejad ($7,000)
W. Anthony Cirelli (3,800)
W. Vladimir Tarasenko ($4,700)
W. Andrei Kuzmenko ($4,800)
D. Morgan Rielly ($4,700)
D. Mikhail Sergachev ($5,000)
G. Ukko-Pekka Luukonen ($8,100)
U. Filip Chytil ($5,000)

Here is a different lineup with a different look. In this one we add some more starpower with high priced players such as Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. We have a cheaper goalie in John Gibson as his opponent Buffalo is struggling to score as of late. Then you take some cheap players with high upside potential such as Jared Spurgeon and Alex Killorn.

C. Connor Mcdavid ($10,000)
C.Leon Draisaitl ($8,500)
W. Anthony CIrelli ($3,800)
W. Alex Killorn ($3,700)
W. Anthony Beauvillier ($4,200)
D. K’andre Miller ($4,100)
D Jared Spurgeon ($4,300)
G. John Gibson ($7,300)
U. Max Domi ($4,100)

Best of Luck in your NHL DFS contests.
