Palat Signs New Contract with Devils
Palat left the Tampa Bay Lightning and signed a $30 million contract for five years to play for the New Jersey Devils. He is 31 years of age and scored 49 goals with 31 assists and 18 goals while playing 77 regular season games. Ondrej Palat also played in 23 Stanley Cup Playoff games last year.
Palat scored game winning goals in two games in the Eastern Conference Finals . He also scored one goals in the Stanley Cup finals against the Colorado Avalanche.
Ondrej Palat signed a five-year, $30 million contract with the New Jersey Devils on Thursday. It has an average annual value of $6 million.
Palst was quoted in his signing with the Devils and said:
“It’s awesome, I’m really excited that I joined New Jersey. The talk with Tom Fitzgerald went really well and it was great and I’m really happy I joined the New Jersey Devils.”
He has 12 game winning goals in NH playoffs and only trails Joe Pavelski of Dallas and Evgeni Malkin of the Penguins.
He was selected in the seventh round of the NHL draft by Tampa Bay in 20111 and finish his career with the Lightning gathering in 443 points, 143 goals.280 assists and played in 628 games in the regular season.
The Devils also acquired Erik Haula in a trade with the Bruins and defenseman Brendan Smith on a two-year contract worth $2.2 million.
