Germany Preview: In Hot Form

Germany are 8-0-1 in their World Cup qualifiers group and are clearly the top team of Group J. Their success over the first nine rounds has already earned the German squad a promotion; however, it doesn’t seem like they have any intentions of slowing down.

The German squad enter this match after two commanding wins against North Macedonia (4-0) and Lichtenstein, who Germany trashed 9-0 on Thursday, November 11. Germany managed 82% possession in that game and had 42 attempts on goal and 23 on target.

Leroy Sané and Thomas Müller scored twice, while the other three goals came from İlkay Gündoğan, Marco Reus, and Ridle Baku. While an impressive performance in the attack, Germany were just as convincing in the defense, allowing only four attempts and no shots on goal.

With that, Germany have scored at least two goals in all of their last six outings and in eight of their last 10. What’s more, Germany have scored at least four in three of their last four.

Armenia Preview: Hoping To Bounce Back

Armenia are fresh off a 0-5 defeat against North Macedonia on Thursday, marking their third loss of the World Cup qualifiers. They have previously lost against Romania (0-1) and Germany (0-6), albeit managed draws against Iceland (1-1), Lichtenstein (1-1), and North Macedonia (0-0) in their tournament opener.

When they lost to North Macedonia, Armenia managed 55% ball possession, seven attempts on goal and only one shot on goal. That’s highly concerning, seeing how Armenia clearly lacked any creativity in the attack, and it doesn’t help that they conceded five goals either.

Some may argue that playing at home will benefit Armenia since they are 3-1-1 across their last five outings, albeit their only three wins came against Romania (3-2), Iceland (2-0) and North Macedonia (1-0), who are all significantly weaker teams that Germany.

Odds & Free Betting Analysis for This Soccer Game

Germany enter this match as massive -1100 favorites, which is more than fair, and it’s easy to see why the odds on Germany are dropping even further. This is a team that has not long ago made it to the playoffs of EURO 2020, and even though Germany crashed out of the 1/8 finals, their loss happened against the eventual finalist, England.

On the other side, we have Armenia, who have not achieved anything of note throughout most of their history. What’s more, Armenia have yet to defeat a team of Germany’s caliber, either away or on home soil.

The last time Armenia faced a top-tier team at home was in September 2019, when they lost to Italy with 1-3. With the form Germany have been showing of late – trashing North Macedonia and Lichtenstein – it’s more than fair to expect another very one-sided affair.

Last time out, Germany won by six goals, and while we don’t expect another 6-0, the German squad should get it done with at least three goals to spare.
