United’s Early Struggles

Manchester United has arguably one of the most talented rosters in the Premier League this season, but currently sit at seventh in the Premier League standings. They are coming off one of their biggest defeats in history in the 5-0 loss last weekend to rival Liverpool.

Many want to see a new face as the manager, but the club is continuing on for the time being with Solskjaer. He is expected to change this season around soon or he will be out of the job before he knows it.

Let’s take a look at the best candidates for the job if Manchester United choose to move on with Ole Solskjaer.

Next Manager for the Manchester United Job

Antonio Conte

Conte seems to be a great fit for United as he has experience coaching Chelsea back in 2016/17 where he transformed that team from a tenth place team into Premier League winners. He moved to Inter Milan after Chelsea and led them to their first Serie A title in 11 years last year.

Conte is very defensive-minded which could help United out greatly since they have struggled to prevent their opponents from scoring. The offensive talent is there, but the Red Devils need a defensive-minded manager to help them defend more effectively.

Zinedine Zidane

Zidane would be the perfect candidate for the job in the fact that he coached and led Ronaldo and Varane to three Champions League titles at Real Madrid. He knows how to use talent in a way to get his squad to win trophies which is what Manchester United and their fans desperately seek.

Manchester United Zidane Potential

There are reports that Zidane doesn’t want to make the move to United, but soccer reports can be confusing and conflicting so I wouldn’t count him out yet.

Brendan Rodgers

United may look for an option with a current coach in Rodgers who is the current Leicester manager. Rodgers has a lot of experience in the Premier League as he has been the manager of Liverpool, Celtic, and Leicester.

His past with Liverpool may not make him a great candidate in the eyes of Manchester United fans since they are rivals, but if he brings United success, then I’m sure that they can look past this.

Conclusion

It’s hard to say whether Manchester United will move on from Ole because it depends greatly on these next matches that United will play in the Premier League and Champions League. If he is willing to come to United, I would prefer Zinedine Zidane to take over the role because he knows how to use Ronaldo and other talents which is the key to United’s overall success.

Manchester United fans will not stand for these results much longer. Ole Solskjaer needs to turn this around, or United will be forced to move to the next man up.
