On Saturday, it will be the last week of the German Bundesliga season, and after 90 minutes we’ll find out who is the champion of Bundesliga. Is it going to be FC Bayern, or maybe Borussia Dortmund?
FC Bayern missed winning Bundesliga last week. They played 0-0 against Red Bull Leipzig as a guest, even though they were better the whole game, while their only contender for the crown, Borussia Dortmund, won 3-2 against Fortuna Düsseldorf, pushing the decision of the champion in the last day of the season. They are going into Saturday with two points difference: FC Bayern has 75 points, while Dortmund has 73. Bundesliga has announced that the original trophy for champion will be in Munich, while the replica goes to Mönchengladbach, in case that FC Bayern loses against Eintracht Frankfurt, and Dortmund wins against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Fc Bayern vs. Eintracht Frankfurt – Review
The current coach of FC Bayern, Niko Kovač, is the former head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt. He coached them from 2016 to 2018 and won the first trophy for Eintracht after 28 years, winning DFB-Pokal (German’s cup). Just a couple days before the final match against FC Bayern, he announced that he’d take over FC Bayern, which was probably the worst timing. Still, he managed to win the Cup with his team and proved that he is capable of managing with the big team as FC Bayern.
In his first season, Niko is in the final of German’s Cup, and he’s on the first place on the Bundesliga table. Pretty much, successful season for the coach who was expelled multiple times by the media, while FC Bayern was in small crisis.
Eintracht Frankfurt has a successful season behind themselves. They missed their opportunity to play in the final of Europe League, while they lost against Chelsea on penalties. In Bundesliga, in the last fixture, they lost against Mainz 2-0 and missed the chance to secure Europe for the next season. Now, they will be chasing a victory against FC Bayern to secure at least Europe League for the next season, while FC Bayern needs at least a draw to win the Bundesliga.
