The United States is trying to capture the soccer high from the appeal of the World Cup. they have starter The International Champions Cup that will be played in various venues throughout the United States. The concept is to take the best 18 teams from each of the European soccer leagues and bring them to cities in the United States for matches that lead up to a winner. Each team will play three matches with the winner getting three points, a draw is worth two points, one for a shootout defeat and none for a loss. At the end of the series, the team with the most points is declared the winner.

Many soccer stars will be playing in this event that includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Luis Suarez, Neymar, and Franck Ribéry. This year, it includes 18 of the world’s most iconic and influential clubs, 90 out of 100 of the world’s top-ranked players and all eight of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finalists.

Who is in It?

Simply the best in Europe. Real Madrid comes in as the Champions League winner, Manchester City enters as leader of the EPL. and Bayern Munich is defending champions of the Bundesliga. Add Barcelona of La Liga, Juventus for the Italian League, and Athletic Madrid for the Europa League. Paris St. Germain from the French Ligue 1 is also entered.  Other world-class teams round out the tourney.
