• Manchester City are three points short of Chelsea
  • Everton are winless in their last five
  • Man City have not lost at home against Everton once since 2017

Manchester City and Everton will cross paths on Sunday, November 21, in the 12th round of the English Premier League. It will mark their first meeting since May when City crushed Everton at Etihad Stadium 5-0.

With that win, Manchester City extended their head-to-head record against the Toffees to 8-0. The 2019 EPL champions have won every meeting with Everton since 2017 when they played a draw at home and lost on the road (0-4), and they will surely want to make it nine straight this Sunday.

Everton Preview: Five Games Without A Win

The Toffees have found themselves on shaky ground, failing to win a single of their last five EPL outings. Over that stretch, Everton lost against West Ham (0-1), Watford (2-5), and Wolverhampton (1-2) and drew against Manchester United (1-1) and Tottenham (0-0).

Their poor form is concerning and hardly inspires any confidence ahead of their most challenging trip of the season. And it certainly doesn’t help that Everton hasn’t beaten nor come close to beating Man City across the last four years.

Beyond that, Everton will miss several players, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin (injury), Tom Davies (injury), Abdoulaye Doucoure (injury), and Mason Holgate (red card). Meanwhile, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes are both questionable.

Manchester City Preview: In Hot Form

Manchester City have had some shaky games of late, including their defeat against Crystal Palace in their last home outing. However, the Sky Blues have seemingly found their form and enter this bout on a two-game win streak.

At the start of November, City smashed Club Brugge KV (4-1) in the Champions League, to which they added a convincing 2-0 win against Manchester United on the road. With that, City are 3-2 across their last five, with defeat against West Ham in the EFL Cup and a 4-1 victory against Brighton in October. While getting eliminated from the 1/8 finals of the Carabao Cup isn’t a good look for the 2019 EPL champions, it hardly suggests they will struggle here.

As noted, City have won their last seven meeting with Everton, scoring 21 goals and conceding only five. Even though most of those games happened a while back, the balance of power between the teams hasn’t changed much, so another victory for the favorites is expected.

Odds & Free Betting Analysis for This Soccer Game

Like Everton, Manchester City will miss a few players, namely Liam Delap and Ferran Torres, who are out with an injury and the suspended Benjamin Mendy. Jack Grealish remains questionable, but he might get a chance on Sunday.

The absence of three players hardly boosts Everton’s chances of succeeding, largely because their own absence of Calvert-Lewin leaves them weak in the attack. The recent reports suggest that the visitors will play five in the midfield, which only adds another layer of concern for the outsiders.

Priced at +1700, Everton’s chances to cause an upset are slim to none, and it’s not hard to see why. The only real question we need to answer here is how much City will win by, which is more challenging to answer than it may seem.

Even though City are undeniably the better team, they don’t like to go forward too often, so there’s a good chance this bout will be a low scoring one. However, what we can be sure of is that Everton won’t be very efficient in the attack – take Man City to keep a clean sheet
