Introduction

Manchester United are struggling as a club to keep good form and compete at a top level with some of the best teams in England. They are at the top of their group in Champions League play and will most likely move on as long as they keep getting the results that they need.

The Premier League is a different story. Manchester United are currently sixth in the Premier League with 17 points. Chelsea is leading the charge with 26 points which is a lot of ground to make up only 11 games into the season.

The team looks lost out there with no clear direction or help in sight. They will hope that this international break will bring a needed rest to give the team some time to re-evaluate and come back fresh. Let’s look at the latest Manchester United news.

Latest Team Updates

Paul Pogba Injury

Manchester United fans will not be happy to see that there was a video released by a French media source showing Pogba screaming in pain and immediately walking off into a car after a training session. It has been leaked that it may be relatively serious with the midfielder expecting to miss 6-8 weeks.

Edinson Cavani Fitness Concerns

Cavani was ruled out of the derby against Manchester City last weekend because of his fitness. Uruguay left Cavani off their squad for fitness reasons as well. He has come out and said that he has been fighting a leg injury throughout this season with hopes that it will go away, but as the pain increased, he was forced to miss time and treat this injury.

There is no timetable on Cavani’s return or how serious this rehabilitation will be, but United is a bit concerned since Raphael Varane and Paul Pogba will both be dealing with injuries after the break, as well.

United to Replace Ole?

There is speculation that Brendan Rodgers and United have reached a verbal agreement to replace Ole Solskjaer as the manager for Manchester United. It is hard to tell the validity of this report since many soccer reports have falsified information.

I would think that there may be some speculation and some interest of both sides, but nothing has been set in stone. The report also stated that Rodgers would prefer to take over at the end of this season instead of taking the reins. United fans will hope that this move comes sooner rather than later.

Next Up for Manchester United

Manchester United will face Watford on November 20 at 10 am EST after the international team. It will be interesting to see how United will line up after the recent injury news, but it doesn’t bode well for a team who is trying to turn it around to compete at a top level.

On a positive note, Manchester United will get the chance to change it up and give the younger guys to prove their worth.
