The MLS is Back Tourney, being held in a bubble at the Disney Properties, took five weeks to play and almost 50 matches took place. Now we have the finals in front of us. Both teams were a bit of a surprise as Portland will battle the home team Orlando City for the championship hardware. Each team entered the tournament at 28-1 odds to win the whole affair.

The winning team get a place in the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League and that is a big deal. Each team deserves to be here with Portland getting the offensive nod and Orlando favoring the defensive ide. Both teams gained this berth through a penalty shoot-out along the trail.

There is no real pressure on Orlando City as they came through unscathed as the most surprising team in the tourney. With a new coach and a new attitude, the fan base is going bonkers especially as the host city for the MLS is Back affair. This team has never lived up to their billing in the franchise history and now they are on the cusp of having something to celebrate. Team captain Nani has been solid and will be attempting to carry the team on his back since forward Dom Dwyer will be out.

The Portland Timbers have been unstoppable as they won the semifinals defeating Philadelphia Union with goals from MVP Sebastian Blano and Jeremy Ebobissee. The midfield has been the strong point for this team.

Portland Timbers: The Timbers have had an impressive tournament to date, going unbeaten in the group stage, and winning their semifinal against Philadelphia Union thanks to goals from Jeremy Ebobisse and tournament MVP candidate Sebastian Blanco. The team has been playing its best soccer in the knockout round, combining strong individual performances from young talent and veteran players. If the midfield continues to dictate the flow, they could have another winning performance. MLS is Back Championship game

The oddsmakers for the MLS is Back contest have almost even odds which makes it hard to pick a winner. Each club enters with 39.2 points as Portland has 1.46 expected goals to 1.51 against. Currently Orlando City SC moneyline is +145 which may be because they are in their home environment. The Portland Timbers enter at +175  and are unbeaten in their previous six contests. The Over/Under has been set a 2.5 goals and should be attainable as each team could finish near two goals. In three of the past four meetings of these teams have totaled three or more goals. Take Orlando and the OVER.
