Following a memorable round of midweek fixtures in the Premier League, teams are back in action on Saturday, Sunday and Monday with vital points up for grabs.
There are some fascinating fixtures in the English top-flight this weekend, including Ralf Rangnick’s first game in charge of Manchester United against Crystal Palace.
But, what picks should gamblers be making for the games in the Premier League this weekend?
Home Bankers Across Weekend
It could be a good weekend for some of the sides playing at home in the Premier League this weekend. Manchester United would be our first selection on matchday 15, as United look to kickstart the Ralf Rangnick-era with a victory at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace.
The Eagles have won on their last two visits to Old Trafford, but they still have a poor record at the Theatre of Dreams, having lost 17 of the previous 24 meetings.
United looked strong in the attacking third against Arsenal in midweek, with Cristiano Ronaldo once again proving that age is but a number, as he netted a brace in the 3-2 win.
Ronaldo will once again be looking to leave his mark at Old Trafford, and we expect him to score in a United victory.
Tottenham also got a win in midweek, as Heung Min-Son was among the scorers in a 2-0 success against Brentford.
They host Norwich City on Sunday, who remain unbeaten in three, but failed to edge past 10-man Newcastle United in midweek.
Spurs have an incredible home record against the Canaries, as they have picked up victories in the last three games, while Norwich have won just three games in the Premier League-era against Spurs.
Antonio Conte has already won his previous two league home fixtures in charge of the club, and we expect a third to be recorded this weekend.
Both Teams To Score A Popular Selection
Goals may not be in short supply in the Premier League this weekend, as there are a number of fixtures in which both teams look capable of finding the net.
The first of those is the fixture between Southampton and Brighton. The latter have an excellent style of play in the final third, but are struggling to win games of late due to defensive frailties.
Southampton also showcased their attacking quality and defensive vulnerability in midweek against Leicester City, drawing 2-2.
Leicester could also be set to be involved in another high-scoring affair on Sunday, as they travel to Midlands rivals Aston Villa.
The Villa have scored in all three games under Steven Gerrard, including Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat against Manchester City.
Leicester are often a team that look to play on the front foot, and that could set up an entertaining game at Villa Park on Sunday.
Lastly, Leeds and Brentford look set to have an interesting battle at Elland Road on Sunday. Both teams look to play an aggressive style of soccer, and that will make for an entertaining fixture.
The form of both sides hasn’t been strong in recent weeks, which means a repeat 1-1 draw from their previous meeting in February 2020 could be the most likely outcome.
