The new year is here, which means that teams all over the world can make transfers for a month. This Premier League season has seen a ton of surprises, most notably with Arsenal as a in first place at the moment. The big six clubs of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham have been shaken up, with Newcastle United’s arrival.

While it is difficult to make major blockbuster transfers in the month of January, these are still realistic targets for each one of these clubs, to continue to improve their season for the next few months before the summer transfer window brakes transfer records.

Arsenal: Mykhailo Mudryk

Arsenal have been one of the biggest shocks of this Premier League season. If Arsenal can continue to play like this, there isn’t a ton of work they need for their squad, but adding in transfer target Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk is the perfect dynamic game changer, that can take this team from underdogs to favorites.

Chelsea: Enzo Fernandez

It looks his little Chelsea will be the team that splashes the biggest amount of cash, and makes the most significant move in january. Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez impressed the world at the world cup, and is primed for a big move in the premier league.

Liverpool: Sofyan Amrabat

It seems as though Liverpool’s number one target Will be berisha Dortmund and England International midfielder Jude Bellingham, however, with a deal as big as Bellingham’s will be, that will have to wait until the summer.

Liverpool have already made a massive transfer in PSV Eindhoven and Netherlands International forward Cody Gakpo, so they will likely not splash a ton more in this transfer window. After a wildly impressive World Cup Tournament, Sofyan Amrabat is the perfect player to come in and help an aging and declining Liverpool midfield.

Manchester City: Declan Rice

With a team as deep as Manchester city, there isn’t too many glaring weaknesses in their squad. It would be just as unsurprising to see City drop loads of cash on a player like Declan rice, as it would be for them to sign nobody at all. However, in this january, if West Ham start to drop points, they may have no choice but to cash in on Rice to save themselves from relegation.

A midfield that contains the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, Kalvin Phillips, İlkay Gündoğan, and Declan Rice, not to mention more attacking midfielders/wingers like Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, and Bernardo Silva, City would have one of the most dangerous midfield depth the Premier League would ever see.

Manchester United: Olivier Giroud

There’s no question that Manchester United will be looking for a striker in January. Look for United to be in heavily in for someone of the caliber of Harry Kane, but that won’t be until the summer. For the time being, a serviceable striker that can reliably score when given the opportunities is what United fans should be begging for.

There is not too many players more reliable than Olivier Giroud. Giroud has spent much of his career in the Premier League with Arsenal and Chelsea. He is not flashy or dynamic, but this World Cup showed, even in the later stages of his career, he’s one of the most consistent and reliable players in the world. Pursuing Giroud, and then going for Harry Kane in the summer would be a perfect concept for United.

Tottenham: Wilfred Zaha

Tottenham are another team that will likely be more active in the summer than January. However, to continue to keep their head above water, and compete with that fourth spot they need a solid player to come in immediately and set up Kane, Son, Richarlison, etc. Wilfred Zaha has been Premier League proven for years and has the lead his Crystal Palace side to as far as he can likely take them. A move to Tottenham with his contract coming up makes a ton of sense for both sides.
