Franchise History

In 1932, this team came into existence as the Boston Braves. In 1933 the name was changed to the Redskins and in 1937 they relocated to Washington, DC.

In 2020, the team changed their name to the Washington Football Team after facing scrutiny of the old mascot. They plan on renaming permanently after the 2020 season.

The franchise has won three Super Bowls and they were in 1982, 1987 and 1991.
