The 2020-2021 Panini Origins Basketball cards and Panini National Treasures Football cards release today April 14, 2021.

Panini Origins Basketball cards

The basketball cards are going to bring back the abstract designs Panini is known for. The kinds of cards in Origins vary mostly with different combinations of signatures and swatches.

Base Set

We start with base sets, which is the only set without autographs or jerseys. In this set, they combine rookies and veterans. Parallels come together to fall two per box are available in different colors. Gold (/10) and Black (1/1) are the rarest. The other colors are Red, Blue, Pink, Turquoise, and Green.

Autographs and Memorabilia Cards

In this set, the rookie autographs will all be on the card. There is also a silver ink and gold ink version of the parallels with different colored backgrounds.

2020 Panini National Treasures cards

The base set includes the traditional numbering to 99. The Parallels are purple (/50), Red (/35), Holo Silver (/25), Holo Gold (/10), Emerald (/5), Printing Plates (1/1), and Platinum (1/1).

The Rookie Patch Autographs have on-card signatures, jumbo patch pieces, and prints that go no higher than 99 copies. These usually become a player’s most valuable rookie card.

The Crossover Rookie Patch Autographs (/99 or less) got their design idea from the 2010-11 National Treasures Basketball set. Holo Gold (/25 or less), Brand Logo (/2), Laundry Tag (1/1) and NFL Shield (1/1) versions will also be available.

The Future (/25) and its cool futuristic layout is back again this year. This is another set where you can find rookie cards. Also, there is the new Rookie Signature Field Pass (/99 or less) that has big photos and the autograph on the card.

Parallels contain Gold (/25 or less), Holo Silver (/10 or less), Black (/5), Printing Plates (1/1), and Platinum (1/1).

The Rookie Jumbo Prime Signatures (/99) are made as card booklets. When it is opened there is a swatch on one side and the player’s photo and autograph on the other.

Colossal Signatures (/49 or less) is one of the sets where you can find veterans and retired players. The cards have a big swatch and high-end parallels such as Prime (/25 or less), Brand Logo (/2 or less), Printing Plates (1/1), Laundry Tag (1/1), and NFL Shield (1/1).

Treasure Chest Signature Booklets (/5 or less) are able to open up and contains a dozen autographs. There are two new autograph themes known as the Prodigy Patch Autographs and the Signature Treasury.

Super Bowl Immortality is a new set for 2020. It does not include signatures or swatches but is short prints that highlight the top players from the biggest Super Bowls in history.

They say six hits are expected in all the 2020 National Treasures hobby box but Panini says most have more.
