There has been a ton of controversy going around Wimbledon about the condition of the courts. Many big-name players have been forced to retire due to these injuries, but nonetheless, the show must go on.
Let’s take a peek into the updated odds for the Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles as we prepare to go into the quarterfinals and semifinals respectively.
2021 Wimbledon Betting | Men’s Singles
We have now reached the quarterfinals after many upsets and close matches in the round of 16. Here are the money lines for all 4 quarterfinals matchups provided by Draftkings.
- Karen Khachanov (+215) vs Denis Shapovalov (-275)
- Novak Djokovic (-5000) vs Marton Fucsovics (+1800)
- Matteo Berrettini (-360) vs Felix Auger Aliassime (+275)
- Roger Federer (-250) vs Hubert Hurkacz (+195)
Shapovalov has been playing his best tennis as of late and has not dropped a set since his first-round scare against Kohlschreiber. He was able to dismantle 8th ranked player Roberto Bautista Agut in a very quick 3 sets. In the previous round, he defeated the crowd favorite Andy Murray in 3 sets as well.
Karen Khachanov nearly blew his 2-1 set lead to the last American left in Sebastian Korda. He was able to squeak past though in the 5th set winning 10 games to 8. I personally like Shapovalov in his recent form taking this one.
Djokovic will have no problem with Fucsovics on Wednesday. Fucsovics had an incredible come from behind victory over Andrey Rublev, marking the first time he has beaten him in his career. But Djokovic is the clear-cut favorite to win this match and he’ll find his way into another semi-final.
Matteo Berrettini has been exceptional on grass courts this season. The winner of the Queen’s Club Championships has only dropped 1 set on grass thus far. He will definitely look to continue this great success against the young Canadian star in Felix Auger Aliassime. He was able to take down Alexander Zverev in 5 sets yesterday but nearly blew a 2-0 set lead.
Roger Federer has played great this Wimbledon after withdrawing from the French Open with that knee injury. His opponent will be the young Polish star Hubert Hurkacz who is coming off his best match in his career, where he defeated the number 2 ranked Daniil Medvedev in 5 sets.
Here are the updated odds to win Wimbledon 2021 from Draftkings:
- Novak Djokovic (-278)
- Roger Federer (+700)
- Matteo Berrettini (+900)
- Denis Shapovalov (+1500)
- Felix Auger Aliassime (+2700)
- Hubert Hurkacz (+3300)
- Karen Khachanov (+8000)
- Marton Fucsovics (+15000)
This is Novak Djokovic’s tournament to lose, he is the best player in the world right now, and the best in this tournament. Another close bet would be Matteo Berrettini, he has been exceptional as of late and will have tons of momentum if he is to make it to the Finals.
Women’s Singles Betting Odds
Today wrapped up the quarterfinals for the women, leaving us with two more matches before the final.
- Ashleigh Barty (-230) vs Angelique Kerber (+185)
- Karolina Pliskova (+165) vs Aryna Sabalenka (-205)
Barty has been the favorite to win since Day 1 and now has the opportunity to make her second career Grand Slam Final. It has been smooth sailing for the number 1 ranked player in the world this tournament, she only dropped 1 set thus far and has been borderline dominant.
Her opponent will be the toughest she has to face all tournament long, Angelique Kerber. Kerber is coming off of back to back days where she won in straight sets and will look to make her first grand slam final since 2018. Where she won Wimbledon against Serena Williams.
Sabalenka has shown why she is the number 2 ranked player in the world this tournament. She has been absolutely dominant as a 23-year-old and will most likely squeeze past her opponent Pliskova.
Pliskova has been incredible in this year’s Wimbledon, she has not dropped a set. Her chances are good against Sabalenka, however, she has yet to win a match against her in their careers.
Here are the updated odds to win Wimbledon 2021 from Draftkings:
- Ashleigh Barty (+165)
- Aryna Sabalenka (+240)
- Angelique Kerber (+280)
- Karolina Pliskova (+500)
You can really win some money with whoever you pick here because there are no set favorites. But with the way Barty has played this year, this is really her tournament to lose and I think she will get the job done.
