UFC 259: STERLING VS YAN

This might be one of the most hyped-up cards in UFC history that will be taking place in Las Vegas this weekend. This is a stacked card from top to bottom, including a battle between the light heavyweight contenders Aleksandr Rakic and Thiago Santos.

Other intense bouts like Joseph Benavidez vs. Askar Askarov, Islam Makhachev vs. Drew Dober, and former two-time bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz make a return to the octagon against Casey Kenney on the prelims.

There are three belts on the line starting in the Bantamweight division. Aljamain Sterling, the #1 contender, will be clashing against Petr Yan. Then, it will shift to the women’s Featherweight as the massive heavy favorite, Amanda Nunes defends her title vs. #3 Megan Anderson.

The main event for UFC 259 will end will in the Light Heavyweight featuring Jan Błachowicz vs. Israel Adesanya. Adesanya will look to be a two-division champion in both the Middleweight and the Light Heavyweight division.

THE END RESULT OUTCOME

If Yan wins this Fight, he will most likely defend his belt vs. Cory Sandhagen; if Sterling wins, he will most likely defend his title vs. TJ Dillashaw. If the UFC doesn’t finalize the Fight between Sandhagen and Dillashaw in the next couple of days, then whatever happens on Saturday will determine what happens in the Bantamweight division.

FINAL THOUGHTS

In any other card, this Fight would be the main event. However, this Fight of the Night favorite with the Vegas odds being so close. This likely will earn the fighters $50,000 post-fight. This Fight will get a lot of attention to the recent back-and-forth trash talk on Twitter.

You can expect a high output striking battle between the two fighters with an occasional takedown attempt. However, both fighters are active with their striking and good with their defense.

Prediction: Aljamain Sterling ML +110
