WWE is set to showcase the Royal Rumble premium live event this weekend in one of the most anticipated wrestling events of the year. So far, only five matches have been confirmed, with two being the men’s and women’s 30 person Royal Rumble match.
The Royal Rumble match will consist of 30 competitors, attempting to throw their opponents of the top rope, with their feet hitting the floor, until their is only one wrestler remaining in the ring, guaranteeing them a slot for a world championship match at WrestleMania.
Pitch Black Match: Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight
This is a match that will be new for many people. This will be Bray Wyatt’s first match back since his return, as well as the first match ever pitch black match. Not much is known on what the pitch black match will entail, but it does seem likely that it will be something similar to AEW’S lights out matches.
The only thing known for sure is that the match will be sponsored by Mountain Dew. Considering this is Bray Wyatt’s first match back, he should be able to handily beat LA Knight, who has been incredible in this program as well.
Raw Women’s Championship Match: Bianca Belair vs. Alexa Bliss
Bianca Belair has been on a tear since winning the Raw Women’s Championship back at WrestleMania 38. However, it seems as though Bray Wyatt, or Uncle Howdy is getting into Alexa Bliss’s head. The only question is, if that happens again, does that benefit or hurt Bliss in this match. It’s tough to see Belair losing this match, as she is one of the biggest stars in the company, and will likely go into WrestleMania with the championship.
Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens
The Bloodline with Sami Zayn versus Kevin Owens has been one of the best stories that WWE has told in a long time, and this could be the final chapter, as Zayn could be involved in this match. Will Sami betray his best friend Kevin Owens once again? or will he finally break away from the bloodline? This match will surely have everyone on the edge of their seats, but there is no doubt that Reigns walks out with the championships.
Women’s Royal Rumble Match
There have only been a few names that have been confirmed for the women’s Royal Rumble, leaving many surprises to be on the table in this match. Most experts see real Ripley coming out of the Royal Rumble as the winner, setting up a massive match against herself and Bianca Bel-Air likely at WrestleMania. However, with Naomi still not on any roster currently, it will be interesting to see if she returns to the WWE, and wins the rumble, propelling her to WrestleMania.
Men’s Royal Rumble Match
Half of the competitors have been announced for the men’s Royal Rumble, with the biggest shocking one being that Cody Rhodes has already been announced that has returned will take place in the match. With a match that has so many surprises like the Royal Rumble, many expected Rhodes to return, but as a surprise.
Now it has left many fans to speculate if Rhodes is an early entrance, and defies all the odds, still walking out as the winner. There are still plenty of surprises left on the table like The Rock, winning and challenging Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. There is still the Dark Horse of Sami Zayn winning the Royal Rumble, as his trajectory has skyrocketed, and he would likely be the fan favorite to win.
