Way Too Early XFL Predictions – Where Each Team Places

Football, NCAAF, CFB, NFL article at Knup Sports

The XFL season is nearing, and each team has its sights set on a championship. Tommy Burch gives predictions for who will come out on top.

The XFL season is just around the corner, and each team has rounded out due to the end of the NFL regular season. The rosters are set and each team is gunning for a ring, but only one team deserves the honor.

8. XFL Orlando Guardians – 2-8

The Orlando Guardians made a huge pickup in Cody Latimer, but they have too many gaps on the offense to find him success. Their defense looks spectacular, with DeCalon Brooks at linebacker and Matt Elam at defensive back, they make up for their lack of offensive firepower in defensive stopping power.

Quarterback Deondre Francois is going to need to prove his ability to play at the next level, especially with his inconsistencies in passing the ball in college. Their running back group is okay, led by Kelvin Taylor. Their offensive line is what brings them down, and may make the season quite difficult.

T-6. XFL Las Vegas Vipers – 3-7

This team seemed to have a good draft coming out, but taking a look at the other rosters makes me lose some confidence. Martavis Bryant is an incredible pickup, along with Matt Jones at running back and Luis Perez at quarterback. Unlike the Guardians, their defense and special teams are what really lack.

T-6. XFL Arlington Renegades – 3-7

This team has incredible star power with Isaac Nauta at tight end, Marquette King on special teams, and Josh Hawkins leading the charge at defensive back. This team is well-rounded and decent on both sides of the ball, but their wide receiving corp is one of my least favorite in the league. They have incredible potential but are unproven, I cannot see the team getting to .500

5. XFL Houston Roughnecks – 4-6

This team is perfectly balanced. The incredibly talented Kaleb Eleby is backed with good support on offense. No one on the team particularly stands out other than Eleby and defensive back Ajene Harris, but they are all good and fit the role well.

T-3. XFL DC Defenders – 6-4

D’Eriq King makes or breaks this seeding. He could very well bring the team to a winning season, or he could fall short. I am on the positive side, with his talent and knowledge of the game being at the top of the league. Their offense is absolutely loaded, with Ryquall Armstead being the center of the offense.

T-3. XFL San Antonio Brahmas – 6-4

This team may not be the best on the list, but they are quite possibly the most exciting. Quite possibly the best offense in the league rallies behind running back Kalen Ballage and receiver TJ Vasher. However, Jack Coan at quarterback may prove positive or negative, with his ability to step up to professional football being unknown.

2. XFL Seattle Sea Dragons – 7-3

This team and the No. 1 team go hand in hand, with either having the ability to take the top spot. This roster may have the most NFL experience, and definitely the most recent with Ben DiNucci at quarterback. Not a single player at each position can be considered anything less than above average. I am incredibly excited about Curtis Weaver, who has big-league potential.

1. XFL St. Louis Battlehawks – 9-1

Without a doubt, this team is the best in the XFL. Led by former college superstar turned NFL veteran AJ McCarron, the offense is the only other team in contention for the best. What makes them different is also their elite defense, with Willie Harvey Jr and Quenton Meeks holding down the fort. The team is incredibly experienced and very powerful, making for easily the best team in the XFL.
